Abbey Road is the world's most famous recording studio and one of the most popular London attractions with music lovers. The studio is famous as being the location for the majority of The Beatles' recordings in the 1960s.
The Beatles' final album was named after 'Abbey Road' and released in 1969, with the LP's front cover featuring the Fab Four negotiating the zebra crossing outside the studio.
This iconic image is re-enacted by scores of tourists each day, but do be careful this is the one crossing in London where drivers are pushy and do not obey the rules 100%.
|To get to Abbey Road from the Americana; go to the left when you leave the Americana and walk to the bus stops in Dorset Square - about 200 mtrs. Take Bus No. 139 or 189 from there to Abbey Road. If you would like to walk it will take about 25 minutes; turn to the right when you leave the hotel and turn left at the traffic lights into Rossmore Road. This will take you over the railways lines and when you get to the T-junction turn right and walk up Lisson Grove. Continue walk up this road and you will get to Abbey Road.|
