The Open Air Theatre is the oldest fully professional, permanent outdoor theatre in Britain, with one of the largest theatre auditoriums in London. Over 120,000 people visit each year during the 15 week summer season. Although it has just six permanent members of staff, in the summer it requires nearly 100 personnel and have a turnover of around 2 million.

Famous for its Shakespeare performances, A Midsummer Night's Dream remains a signature piece in the repertoire, each year it also produces a musical and a children's play. It has received over twenty Olivier nominations in the last ten years.

On Sunday evenings it also hosts a series of comedy and concerts. Also it has an intimate indoor studio, which is the home for two weeks of comedy, dance, music and drama.

If you are visiting the theatre they have their own food and drink offerings or you can use their picnic area to enjoy your own food and wine. On a warm summer evening a bottle of champange is ideal, you can even take it to your seat and finish it there.
