
Tate Britain is the national gallery of British art. The collection contains British art from the year 1500 to the present day plus some international modern art. Famous artists whose work you will see include Stubbs, Francis Bacon, Henry Moore, Gainsborough and particular attention is given to Blake, Turner and Constable who have dedicated spaces allocated for their work.
The latest in contemporary art is also on display through the Art now programme and with works by artists short listed for the Turner Prize.
There is a continuous programme of temporary exhibitions and although entry is free to the Galleries there may occasionally be a charge for exhibitions.

To get there from the Americana; take the Bakerloo Line southbound from Baker Street to Oxford Circus and change to the Victoria Line southbound. Take the Victoria Line southbound from Victoria to Pimlico. When you get to the street level Tate Britian is signposted from there.
If you want to go to both the Tate Modern and Tate Britain, there is a boat service connecting the two.
